As the on-call architect for Greater Lawrence Technical High School in Andover, MA, H&A designed a new addition to the school's Aviation Program for de-fueled small aircraft maintenance and career-ready training. The project involved the renovation of the existing 3,415 SF aviation hangar space and subsequent design of an expanded aviation classroom and a new exterior waste handling station.

This program is just the second of its kind in the Commonwealth. It provides students with a pathway to careers as mechanics and pilots and offers Federal Aviation Administration certifications upon graduation. The FAA visits the program twice a year to inspect the facility and review students’ performance.
