Master Plan

  • College preparatory high school with a focus on faith, excellence, leadership, and service

  • 1,100 students, 4th largest all-female high school in the US

  • Master Plan to determine the future of the long-term sustainability of the school and of the college campus type buildings and grounds

Since its founding in 1940, St. Francis Catholic High School has encouraged the education of the whole person by providing high academic standards and a Christian environment for spiritual development. In 2018, the school embarked on a Master Planning process that encompassed the five educational buildings, the gym/fitness center, the arts complex, the student commons building, the athletic fields, and the newly purchased armory building, as well as the college campus type grounds of the school.

Led by Habeeb and Associates Architects, this interactive Master Planning process included input from the entire community, including faculty and staff, current students and families, alumnae, alumnae parents and donors. The final Campus Master Plan reflected on the mission, rich history, and commitment to providing a quality Catholic education for future generations of Troubadours. The direction selected was fiscally prudent as well as emotionally satisfying to the majority of the large school’s community.  The comprehensive plan includes:

  • New Aquatic Center

  • Rebuilding of the aged and inefficient St. Francis Educational Building

  • New Chapel to accommodate 200 people

  • New Media Center / Library

  • Improved Sports Fields

  • Additional parking and improved pick up/drop off areas

Phase 1 – Aquatic Center. The school community and athletic program have long envisioned the development of an Aquatic Center on school grounds and Phase 1 of the Master Plan paves the way for the center to come to fruition. The new Aquatic Center will include a practice pool, 10-lane competition pool, diving area, fitness center, locker rooms, and spectator stands with concessions and amenities. The state-of-the-art Aquatic Center enables team competition with local schools and the ability to hold large state events. Phase 1 is expected to break ground as funding is secured.

Phase 2  –  Educational Building. Schematic Design of Phase 2 will follow the completion of Phase 1.
