Most Catholic educational
institutions in the U.S. are
experiencing the same problem - dated structures that no longer support and enhance your educational, extra-curricular and athletic programs. Technology centers become outdated, as do gymnasiums, libraries and science facilities. Many convents that were once a hub of activity are now vacant or underutilized. In order to remain competitive, and provide students (and their parents) with the best education, schools eventually must be renovated or rebuilt.
However, I've found over the years in speaking with administrators and board members that the biggest hurdle to getting these deficiencies corrected is the ability to believe that it can actually be done. The amount of effort required can be overwhelming, many don't know where or how to begin and, of course, there is also the "if we only had the money" issue on top of that. When the proper steps to creating a Master Plan for the rehabilitation of your school are followed, the process becomes much easier and clearer for all (board members, administrators, staff, teachers, students, parents and alumni) to see, understand, get behind and follow. Your overall vision is clearly defined, and the steps required by each team member to reach that vision are documented.
